Mt. Mitchell

This quilt pattern is a downloadable digital PDF.  Upon checkout, the file link will appear and also be sent to your email.

The pattern can be printed at home on standard printer paper (8 ½” by 11”) but is best viewed on a device to take advantage of modern digital elements:

  • Links to how-to videos (great for beginners!) and useful tools

  • “Jump to” buttons in PDF to avoid endless scrolling on screens

  • Link to EXACT yardage if you’re shopping your stash

  • Everything for just YOUR size on a single page - cutting instructions, labels, swatch area (minimize printing!)

Mt. Mitchell, one of four patterns in the Land of the Sky collection, shines bright as a very beginner-friendly pattern. The design features large-scale half-square triangles and squares which are striking in solids but also great for showcasing prints. The colors of the cover quilt represent a star in the night sky, appearing to almost leap out of the fabric in 3D. Mt. Mitchell is named for the highest peak east of the Mississippi, perfect for stargazing in the Appalachian Mountains at an elevation of 6,684 ft.

Skill Level: Beginner

The Mt. Mitchell pattern has been through technical editing and was tested by beginner and experienced quilters. The pattern includes easy step-by-step instructions, clear diagrams, links to technique videos, a coloring page, printable labels, and more.

The pattern is written for 3 colors plus a background fabric and comes in five sizes:

Baby 30” x 40”

Crib 40” x 50”

Throw 60” x 74”
